International Cabaret Artiste and Entertainer, Shelley Lozano started her professional career as a Dancer and then formed her own unique Cabaret Act of Limbo Dancing and Fire-Eating, working top Hotels, Theatre and Cabaret at home and abroad, as well as Cruise work and seasons in resorts up and down the country.
With repeat performances all over the United Arab Emirates, it wasn’t long before she learnt the art of Middle Eastern Belly Dancing which she still performs and teaches both privately and at various Dance Studios locally. She then created a new Act of Dance, Magic and Illusion and was also one of the first ‘mobile’ Lady DJ’s in the South and has worked residencies in Norway, Germany and the Middle East and had experience on several cruises, including P&O on the Oriana, where she worked as a guest Disc Jockey.
Shelley has been a professional Cabaret Artiste/Entertainer for over 25 years performing as a Belly Dancer, Limbo Dancer, Fire-Eater, Magician/Illusionist, DJ, Compere and Speaker with experience in working most venues from Pubs, Clubs, Private & Corporate Functions and Cruises to some of the best Hotels at home and overseas. Her work has taken her as far afield as Europe, Kathmandu, India and the Middle East.
Shelley has worked with and supported many Celebrities and named Artistes such as Peter Kay, Tony Christie, Frankie Vaughan and Bob Monkhouse, June Whitfield in “What`s My Line?”, TVS – “Love me Love me not” and as a guest on ‘The Time the Place’. Appearances include her fire-eating/limbo Act in the Channel 4 production of Peter Kay’s Pheonix Nights and as a guest Artiste on ‘Cybercafe’ for Meridian TV in November 2000. Guest Artiste/Limbo instructor for Meridian TV’ and ITV2’s “Date my Daughter” in 2005. She also Presented an 8 part TV series for Southampton Televisions’ “Arts 4 Evry1” which featured her Belly Dance, classes and students. Appearances in several videos, commercials (a belly dancer in IRN brew), pop promo`s and photographic work for magazines such as `Bella’, she has also written various articles and appeared in magazines and several TV programmes, chat shows, in radio and Theatre.
Shelley is now involved in Big Cat Conservation and as an Entertainer/Speaker and Conservationist, she speaks professionally, giving illustrated Talks and presentations about the BIG CAT Projects and overseas Rescue Shelters she is involved with in Thailand, Costa Rica and South Africa. She has an advanced certificate in feline behavior and psychology and a diploma with distinction on big cats and has raised over £8,000 for various registered charities.
